The WAEC Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae while speaking with journalist during WAEC’s 20th Annual Endowment Fund Lecture held at Multipurpose Hall, WAEC International Office in Ikeja, Lagos, said WAEC is ready to adopt technology based method in conducting its examinations across West African countries.

According to the registrar, the board’s new international office in Lagos is equipped with internet facilka8tries and can site over 350 candidates per sitting, disclosing that the centre was used by JAMB in the just concluded UTME.

He further stated that the fact that the board uses theoretical questions in it examination will not stand as a major challenge in adopting CBT. However, he stated that the board is not in a rush at the moment to adopt CBT.

TROUBLE IN FUTO!! Prior to the inhumane, unjust and sadistic incident that took place yesterday at Female Hostel C,where a top official of the student security personnel "MOW", allegedly raped an innocent female Nigerian student, the occupants of the hostel demonstrated a peaceful protest this morning at the senate building. Trouble started this morning when the female occupants of the hostel C holding placards bearing words like "Say no to Sexual Harassment";
"Justice must Prevail", started marching down to the senate building chanting some solidarity songs. At the senate building, Prof. M.C. Offoh, the dean of students affairs, addressed the students pleading with them to keep calm as the school authorities are taking measures to allow justice prevail and also measures will be taken to dissolve all the student security personnel.

However, an SUG official who spoke on anonymity assured the apoplectic crowd that the culprit must face the consequences of his actions. According to FUTO INFOSCOPE, "the girl was brutally and sexually manhandled by the culprit". An eye witness also spoke in a vexed tone saying "This is the worst form of inhumane act that a leader can do to his follower", She
also prayed that the justice should prevail in this case.

As at the time of filing this report, there have been no formal conclusion regarding the incident as the students
are vehemently protesting that the vice chancellor should hear their plead. May God heal and cleanse our
land of its atrocities. AMEN!

The new date is March 9th, 2015.

This was made known by the registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. ‘Dibu Ojerinde.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has said that they will on February 25th embark on an indefinite strike.

The union had earlier on February 11 issued a two weeks ultimatum urging the federal government to immediately implement the agreement it reached with the union which led to the suspension of its strike last July.

President of ASUP, Comrade Chibuzor Asomuga, while speaking with journalists in Abuja at the weekend at the end of the national executive council (NEC) meeting of the union frowned over the government’s failure to implement the agreement it reached with the union.

According to him, ASUP suspended the strike in July 2014 based on the plea of the Hon Minister of Education, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau who then requested for a three month moratorium to enable him tackle the lingering problems.

However, since the suspension of the strike none of the issues has been addressed to a logical conclusion.

It was learnt that other resolution reached at the end of the NEC included that “the Federal Government should, without further delay dissolve the Governing Councils of the Federal polytechnics Oko and Ado Ekiti as they have become burdens rather than solutions to the myriad of problems bedeviling the sector.

“That the circular issued by the Ministry of Education suspending the implementation CONTISS 15 Migration be withdrawn with immediate effect as the suspension is ill-timed and counterproductive and will create further tension in the sector.

“That Managements and Councils of Polytechnics in Nigeria must desist from interfering in ASUP activities in their Institutions and stop forthwith the intimidation of staff who insists that proper things be done.”

When is JAMB UTME CBT Date 2015/2016

The examination has been scheduled to hold on March 4, 2015. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB public relations officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the board would be migrating all to computer-based mode of examination for the first time.
The board also made it known that there is no going back on the issue of CBT for examination as a body, pointing out that JAMB is optimistic that soon this will apply to other sister examination bodies.
Now that you know the date for the 2015 JAMB CBT, you should start preparing now and God will crown our effort.
